Understanding Stewardship

It is our tireless engagement in stewardship that yield profitable rewards. There are  diverse platforms for stewardship. Such as:

• Spiritual stewardship
• Financial stewardship
• In services – as, choir, ushering, hospitality, protocol, etc.
• Physical stewardship

Spiritual stewardship involves your prayer engagement and soul winning involvement. There is ‘prayergelism’ and evangelism. Prayergelism is the act or demonstration of obedience via praying ceaselessly on behalf of the lost souls with a view of getting open rewards in return.

Now, financial stewardship is the demonstration or act of obedience to the instruction of giving with a view of swimming in the realm of abundance. Gen.8:28, Mal.3:10.

In-services are also know as physical stewardship, it is the physical engagement of the saints in ‘Zion’ (Zion means place of worship). This kind of engagement is prone to hypocrisy. This explains while a choir will fornicate yesterday night and sing in the church the following day. Don’t let this shock you as the devil can sing. In-services are very good platform to develop your talents in the church and build your potentials.

Among all platforms of stewardship, the Spiritual Stewardship is the most rewarding. “God is a spirit: and they that worship Him must worship Him in spirit in spirit and in truth.”Jn.4:24. “It is the spirit that quickeneth the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak to you, they are spirit, they are life. Jn.6:63. 

Spiritual stewardship is the gateway to a world of spirit. When you enter into the spiritual stewardship, you become a spirit after the order of God. Because ‘like’ begeth ‘like’. God has not called you spiritual, you are not spiritual; you are only spiritually minded but you are a spirit. “ I have said that ye are gods, all of you are children of the most high.” PS.82:6. If your father is a spirit, you also must be a spirit. Therefore, what cannot be found in God must not be found in you. God can’t be sicked so you can’t be sicked. The son of a dog is a dog, the son of a goat is a goat. It follows that the son of God is a god. Spiritual stewardship launches you into the class of God. When you engage in spiritual stewardship, you operate just like God. Miracles, healings, Freedom from satanic oppression, success, deliverances, prosperity become the order of the day.

What are Kinds of Spiritual Stewardship

1. Prayergelism – Kingdom advancement prayer is a vital area of spiritual stewardship that churches of today need to start emphasizing. Most of our prayers are self-centered. Thou, I’m not against requesting from the lord since it is biblical. But, it is funny the way many believers placed demands in God. In Mat.6:9, “After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth as it is in heaven.”  “But Seek ye first the kingdom of God and is righteousness; all these things shall be added unto you.” Mat.6:33. Until you turn most of your prayer requests into a platform of service, open rewards are out of view. Pray for the lost to be saved from all satanic oppressions. Your family member who has gone astray, pray for his return to Christ, pray for the occultists, drunkers, smokers, assassinator, corrupted politicians, and for the peace of your nation at large. These are the kinds of prayers that moved God. Some whom you have prayed for will appear in church without preaching to them.
2. Evangelism – Soul winning is the other mandate given by God to every believer. Now that you have prayed for them, reach out to them and invite them to church. And follow them up in order to ensure they are rooted in the kingdom. “Ye have not chosen me but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go out to bring forth fruit, and your fruit should remain: that whatsoever you ask my father in my name He will give unto you.” Jn.15:16

As we have know that there is nothing that we do in Christ that is a waste. Serving God is not a waste of time; God does not use people, He blesses people, He expands people. He is a God of addition. He is a God of multiplication. Mat.6:33, Jer.30:19. Nothing remain worse serving God.
