Understanding The Power in the Name of Jesus

The power in the name of Jesus

To the rest of the world the name of Jesus means nothing but to the biblical Christianity the name of master key to all problems. It is a the greatest asset to a believer. The name of Jesus is not just a mere pause in prayer, it can be used to dislodge every mountains (oppositions) confronting you. The name got its omnipotence and almightiness by prophecies. Take a look at this prophecy:

Jesus got the almightiness of his name by prophecy

“For into us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting father, the Prince of peace.”Is.9:6.

The power in the name of Jesus

That name can be used to invoke all attributes it carry. The is name is called wonderful, it can be used to invoke signs and wonders. It is Counsellor. Counselor established every enterprise in the realm of existence, A believer is expected to use the name to manifest counsel; it is mighty, there is might in the name; and there is peace in the name; a believer who would not hold his peace and stand still should not expect God to intervene into the affairs of his life.

The bearer of a name manifest after the his name: Nabal, the husband of Abigail, he lived up to his name and died foolish.

“For as his name is so is he; Nabal is his name and folly is with him.” 1.Sam.25:25

During Jesus earthly ministry, he changed the name of His disciples to suit their duties. The sons of Zebedee who were surnamed Boarberges – by interpretation, Boarberges means the sons of thunder – were changed to James and John. Simon Peter was changed to Cephas which means stone.

“And he brought him to Jesus. And when Jesus beheld him, he said, Thou art Simon the son of Jona: thou shalt be called Cephas, which is by interpretation A stone.” Jn.1:42

In another Prophecy,

There shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a branch shall grow out of its root.” Is.11:1

The major object in this prophecy cannot be mistaken. The rod served as a reference to Jesus. Now cast your mind back to Exodus. God told him:

“And thou shalt take this rod in thy hand wherewith thou shall do signs.” Ex.4:17

Without the rod Moses was powerless and incapacitated, he was just like any other person in Egypt, he couldn’t move an ant. But with rod he became a terror to Pharaoh and whole land of Egypt. With the rod,  the magicians rods were swallowed. It turned serpents. When he stretched it towards the rivers of Egypt, the water turned to blood. When he pointed it to the sky thunder, hail and fire was the result. It was with the rod that he parted the Red sea for the children of Israel to cross over. Everything moses wanted came to be with rod.

The name is the greatest asset in the life of any believer, you can use it to dislodge any evil hanging over your life, family and business. Don’t just call the name, use it.

And Peter said silver and gold I have not; but such as I have give I thee: in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.” Acts.3:6

That lame man was expecting cash strapped from Peter and other disciples but they have something greater than cash. Peter pulled the trigger, in the name of Jesus rise up and walk and miracle exploded.
