What partnership entails

We are not working for God we are working with God

According to webster’s dictionary defines a partner as “One that shares; one associated with another especially in action.”

Partnership occurs when two or more people come together in order to accomplish something that neither of them could do alone. The literal meaning indicates that each one has a specific part.

When partnership of vision takes place, something powerful happens. When people or groups of people partner together, it gives them the capability and the strength to do something that did not or could not exist before.

The spiritual principles of partnership are still the same. When we follow the leadership of the Holy Spirit and come together in partnership as He directs, both those who give and those who receive will be fully supplied through God’s great riches in Christ Jesus, and God’s work will get done. This is pleasing to God.

God is not a task master, He is a paymaster

It should be noted that when Jesus came to earth He was looking for partners. He could have sent angels to preach the gospel, but instead He asked for men and women to do it.

Jesus was God manifest in the flesh with “all the fullness of the Godhead bodily dwelling in Him,”yet the first thing He did after He was baptized was to look for men and women to help Him with His work.

He choosed 12 partners to help Him get started. They were soon joined by others.
And, yes Jesus needed their prayers. When Jesus was struggling in prayer in the Garden of Gethsemane against the self-will of the human race and the crucifixion that was looming before Him, He asked His partners to watch and pray with Him.

Before Jesus ascended into heaven He commissioned His disciples saying, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.” (Mark 16:14-15)

One thing is certain from Jesus’ command. He was not looking for spectators. He wants all of His followers to participate.
Jesus said, “Truly I say to you, there is no one who has left house or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or farms, for My sake and for the gospel’s sake, but that he will receive a hundred times as much now in the present age, houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and farms, along with persecutions; and in the age to come, eternal life.”(Mark 10:29-31)

We “walk worthily of God,” partnering with Christ to carry out His ministry in our daily lives, God faithfully works through us to bring healing and reconciliation to a broken and divided world. It is this very power of God at work through Christ embodied by us, that brings peace, joy, and fruitfulness to the world, rather than chaos, destruction, and death. Paul calls these experiences of enriched life the “Kingdom of God.”

While Addressing congregants in his church in Corinth, Paul says “the Kingdom of God depends not on talk but on power” (1 Corinthians 4:20).

They are speaking arrogantly to one another, rather than “walking worthily of God.”Paul plans to go to Corinth to “find out not the talk of these arrogant people but their power” (1 Corinthians 4:19).

In other words, Paul will point out to them the obvious, chaotic results of this destructive power being unleashed in the community through their arrogant talk. Such behavior also blocks their experience of the peace and joy that characterizes the Kingdom of God.

When we partner faithfully with Jesus Christ when we “walk worthily of God” in our own daily lives. As we do, God works powerfully through our embodiment of Christ to bring healing and life to others with all sorts of colors and beauty, relieving all despair and hopelessness.

In all of these various moments, the Kingdom of God breaks into our world. We are in true partners with Christ in the Kingdom of God. What a “calling.” example of such calling is enumerated in (1king 17:13) In a time of famine, Elijah went to the home of a poor widow and asked her for a cup of water. As she was going to get it, he asked for a piece of bread too. The widow told him that she had only a handful of flour left in the jar and a little cooking oil. She was just preparing to cook one last meal for herself and her son and then die.

God is not a task master, He is a paymaster

But Elijah told her, “Don’t be afraid. Bake me a little loaf of bread first, and there will still be enough food for you and your son. For this is what the Lord the God of Israel says, ‘There will always be plenty of flour and oil left in your containers until the time when the Lord sends rain and the crops grow again! ”Later, this same woman received her son back to life through Elijah’s prayer. The power of partnership with God.
