Understanding The Bible Covenant

understanding the Bible covenant

Every written statement in the scripture is an oath (Josh.1:8, JMS.1:25). And we serve a covenant-keeping God (Is.14:24). Don’t question God. Question yourself.

What Is A Covenant?

A covenant is an agreement between two or more parties bound by terms. The terms are determined by parties involves.

What Is The Bible Covenant?

The Bible Covenant is an oath between divinity and humanity (God and man) bound by some conditions only determined by God.
In the Bible Covenant, there are no rooms for negotiations or public opinions. God is the sole determinant of the terms humans are to follow and comply.
I have said times without numbers that the lion is not the greatest animal; the greatest animal is sheep. According to the scripture, the lion will suffer hunger and lack, but those that seek God (the sheep) will not lack anything good.
The Bible Covenant is a deal between a supernatural force (God) and a natural force (man) of which the supernatural force is a commander while the natural force is a follower (basically, God operates on commandments).
However, there are benefits attached to the Bible Covenant when diligently adhere; and there are also conditions to be met. Until the conditions are met, the benefits are not in view.

And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the Lord thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth: [2] And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God. [3] Blessed shalt thou be in the city, and blessed shalt thou be in the field. [4] Blessed shall be the fruit of thy body, and the fruit of thy ground, and the fruit of thy cattle, the increase of thy kine, and the flocks of thy sheep. [5] Blessed shall be thy basket and thy store. [6] Blessed shalt thou be when thou comest in, and blessed shalt thou be when thou goest out. [7] The Lord shall cause thine enemies that rise up against thee to be smitten before thy face: they shall come out against thee one way, and flee before thee seven ways. (Deuteronomy 28:1-7)

Benefits Of The Bible Covenant

(a). Supernatural blessings – By complying with the terms of the covenant, it provokes the rain of supernatural blessings on our lives (Deut.28:1-3).
(b). Divine promotion – By complying with terms of the covenant, it enhances the degree of our change of level and numbered us among the world’s highflyers. Every authentic child of God is a global phenomenon (Deut.28:1).
(c). Everywhere blessings – By complying with the terms of the covenant, we are blessed everywhere. Whether you live in the field (village) or city, the blessings of the Lord will locate you there (Deut.28:3). So, it doesn’t matter where you’re from, or what you do, the blessings of the Lord will find expression in your life by keying yourself to the covenant.
(d). All-round fruitfulness – Obedience to scriptural injunctions guarantee fruitful labour. Your father can’t be a baby maker and be a baby beggar. Even your cattle (business) is not permitted to be barren (Deut.28:4).
(e). Victory over defeat – By plugging yourself to the frequency of the Bible Covenant, you’ll overcome all your oppositions in the battlefield of life (Deut.28:7).

Cautions:

(1). Don’t just claim blessings, take responsibility.
(2). No divine contents that can be grounded in life, but when you take God for granted, you’ll be grounded. For instance, some fellows only saw their wealth as a product of their efforts. They forgot the ONE behind it. Then, everything goes down and fade into nothingness.
But thou shalt remember the Lord thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day (Deut 8:18).
It’s not enough to be blessed but to know how to sustain it. It takes OBEDIENCE to get to the wealthiest place of the ‘most high,’ it will take same OBEDIENCE to remain there.
Don’t be bigger than God. When God blessed you, don’t be too busy to serve Him. We’re not achievers, we’re privilege receivers. The day you start seeing yourself as an achiever, you’re finished. Our success in the kingdom is not an achievement, but an ‘engracement.’

Until you begin to see life with this new perspective, don’t expect God to entrust the riches in glory to you because you cannot be trusted. God only entrust the kingdom wealth to those who understand it and matured to utilize it and are grateful about it.
