Unveiling the Breakthrough Power of the Word

Progress is one of the signs of a breakthrough while responsibility is one of the factors that engenders a breakthrough. When you advance (make progress) in any area of life, you have a breakthrough. A season of breakthrough is a season of supernatural change of level. You can’t change a class without writing an exam. If you were sicked, you would still come back to write the exams you missed when you are well because you must pass the required exams to change class. If your father were the school vice-chancellor, he wouldn’t write the exams for you. Everyone is responsible for the outcome of his life.

The word of God the recommended text that you must read to pass the exams of life. The more of God’s word you know the higher your marks in life. The higher your marks, the more the breakthrough you experience. Ignorance is not an excuse in law, because you don’t know doesn’t set you free. What you don’t know, you’ll pay for it.

What are in the word that provokes the release of supernatural breakthrough?

a). The fire of the word

Many people know about the fire of the Holy Ghost, only a few are aware of the fire of the word. The word of God is a fire.

Is not my word like a fire? saith the Lord; and like a hammer that breaketh the rock in pieces? – Jeremiah 23:29 KJV

Beasts don’t chase fire. On a contrary note, it’s a fire that chases beasts. An ignorant believer would say he saw a beast in his dream pursuing him. Remember the word of God is God Himself (John.1:1). And our God is a consuming fire (Hebrews.11:29). The statement “God is a consuming fire” also connotes you are a consuming fire. You are sons and daughters of God. He created you in His image, after His kind. It’s your right to operates in the class of God. There is a god in you (Psalm.82:6). Knowing your ‘sonship‘ status will set you free from the fear of satanic oppression.

b). The word of God is a rock

There are two kinds of rocks. our Rock and their rock. We have a Rock, the forces of darkness also have their rock. The difference is that our Rock is bigger than their rock. For their rock is not as our Rock (in the capital), even our enemies themselves being judged – Deuteronomy 32:31

Jesus is the rock of ages and the chief cornerstone (Ephesian. 2:19). Same Jesus is the Word. That means the word is the Rock. Next time the enemy confronts you, go for the rock (the word of God), and sling it to the forehead of the wicked.

When David confronted Goliath, he picked five stones and slung them at Goliath’s head. Those stones represent five-letter words. JESUS. He is the Rock of Age. Those stones also represent the word of God. Jesus is the word. God spoke the Word (Jesus) and He created heaven and earth.

In Luke.4, When Jesus went to the wilderness to fast for forty days and nights. On His return, the enemy confronted Him. The wicked tempted Him with riches and honors. But, Jesus defeated him by applying the appropriate scriptures.

Understand this: the enemy doesn’t understand your title either your position, not even your fancy grammar. The only language the wicked understands is the word of God. That is why you must be a chartered student of the word. So that whenever the devil strikes, you will sling the fury of the word against him.

Know your rock status in Christ.

One more important thing to know is that when the storm of life comes, it’s the word in your heart that speaks up (not the one in your head that you reel off like a memory verse nor the one you hide under your pillow). The word in your head cannot withstand the storm of life. It will fall off when the storm comes. Let the word of God roots in your heart because your heart is the good ground where the word produces fruits.

c). The word of God is a balm

There are healing virtues in the world. The word of God is medicinal. In Ezekiel.37, the situation in the valley of dry bones was so hopeless that no situation could ever be as helpless as it was. But, when Ezekiel spoke the word as instructed, the dried bones jacked back to life. If the hopeless bones could survive, that means you still have hope.

Hear this: the words of God are not mere letters. When you read the word you may get information but when you meditate on it, you get the substance behind it. That is how information graduates to revelation and illumination.

Kenneth E Hagin was crippled, he read Mark.11:23-24 and caught the light which struck him like a thunderstorm. He saw: For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.

That was it! The light sparked off and he took his healing by force. The word of God is the healing balm in Gilead. Sickness and disease are not your portions. Your condition is not your portion (never mistake your condition for your portion). Jesus took your infirmities before your doctor started schooling (Mathew.8:17). He paid the price for your sickness on the cross. He took your place in sickness and disease the same way He took the place of Barnabas.

d). The word of God is light (John.1:1-5)

The psalmist says: the entrance of the word gives light (Psalm.119:130). It’s the incoming of the word that sparks off the light. This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. (1.John.1:5). You can’t be in the camp of light and be in the camp of darkness. It’s impossible to serve God and mammon. Darkness doesn’t struggle with light. When you turn on the light in your room, what does darkness does? It has no choice but to bows out.

At creation, when God saw darkness and needed a change of situation, He didn’t cry. He spoke the word: “let there be light and there was light.” (Genesis.1). Darkness means frustration, confusion, and stagnation. It also connotes poverty (failure), sickness, and diseases. Living by the dictates of the scripture guarantees your light status. you can’t be lighted and be tormented. You need light to conquer darkness.

Final thoughts

The word of God is quick and powerful. The following makes it the greatest asset of mankind:
