The Power of Love

God loves you. He loves everyone. He sent His only son to die for your sin because He loves you. He loves you more than you think. He thinks good things about you. He has great plans for you. His plan is bigger than all the plans you can ever have. He wants the best for you. He doesn’t want you to live, pay bills and die the way most human beings live, pay bills and die. He wants you to live a life of fulfillment and dignity. He has a plan for you.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” – John.3:16

“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.” Jer.29:11

Love is reciprocal. Mutual. If God loves you, you should love Him back – by obeying His commands. Obedience is the proof of your love for Him (John.14:21). He gives you health unconditionally. He brings food to your table at all times. He protects your going out and coming in even when don’t deserve it. The best you can at least do is to love Him back.

Love breeds joy. It brings about peace and stability. It promotes unprecedented happenings around you. It makes lines fall in their pleasant places for you. All things excluding nothing work together for your good when you love God (Romans.8:28).

Love redirects traffic. It causes things that others run after to run after you (Mathew.6:33). It gives your life bearing and a new meaning. It preserves you till old age. It guarantees your stardom and announces you to your world. It turns nonentities into celebrities. Love is the most important thing in life. It’s the fulfillment of the law.

“But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.”1 Cor.2:9

Where your heart is where your money, energy, time, and talent are. Your heart can’t be with God and your money will not be there. The larger your heart for God the larger your coast of blessings. The bigger your kingdom dreams, the bigger you become in life.

Passion can be defined as what holds your interest.  If the things of the Lord do not move you, nothing else will do. Get on board and start running after God. Don’t live for things. Live for God and things will follow.

  1. What an uplifting message for this morning! We’ve had endless rain in the area where I live, and fir the first time since we moved into this house 10 years ago, we have ground water coming up through our basement drain and flooding the basement. We’ve been fighting the water all night until we can go buy a pump. Whew! I’d hoped to be in church this morning, but instead, I’m sipping coffee and reading blogs for a short break before I go back down to do another round of bailing water. Your message is full of truth and perspective. It’s my Sunday morning sermon today! Thanks, Chris!

  2. That’s when the Holy Spirit got me. I was sitting there thinking there is no way I would allow my son to die for everyone, or anyone. That’s when my breath was taken, and a bolt shot through me. I just was like… what the heck was that? They said it was the Holy Spirit. I love my Jesus, but I have problems with everything else. Catholic Guilt I guess. But thank you for reminding me of that experience!
