Unleashing The Power Of Self-Love

Self-Love is the missing key that opens the door to a world of great affluence and influence. Self-Love simply means loving yourself to love others. It implies self-motivation. Awareness of Self. Having Self-image or self-identity. Self-lovers don’t imitate others. They can be inspired by their role models, but they’ll never mimic them.

What you don’t have, you cannot give. If you don’t love yourself, you cannot love your neighbor. Many of us are so passionate about loving our neighbors. And we always back it up with this common verse of the scripture: Love your neighbor as yourself (Mat.22:39). We quote that scripture often. It doesn’t say love your neighbor first. The greatest and first commandment is to love God with all your might, strength, talent, time, and resources while the second is to love yourself. This summarizes all of the about 650 laws into one law. A Pharisees asked Jesus: Which law is the most important? This question demanded one answer. But Jesus answered with two. Because one answer could not answer the question appropriately (the first & second answers carry equal weight).

You go about reducing your worth by expressing love to just anybody. And that is the reason why you get hurt when they don’t love you back. Your insecurity is the reason why most of your relationships have failed. Not as if it’s bad to love others, but that is not the priority according to the scripture. You need to love yourself first before you can love others.

Self-love is the master key to all successful relationships. The relationship between employer-employee, husband-wife, Father-son, Parent-children, Pastor-members, and leaders-followers will only be successful when the parties involved love themselves.

For instance, I don’t need someone to tell me “I love you.” Because it’s “I love me” & “you love you” that will make our relationship works. If you don’t love me, I still love me. If you don’t love yourself, you can’t love me. If I don’t love myself, I can’t love you. So, let’s stop deceiving each other.

When you love yourself you will enjoy singleness. You won’t rush Into a marriage because of your insecurity. You need someone to love you to feel secure. That’s the common cause of heartbreaks. That will ruin your destiny. I’m sunshine. You are sunshine. If you go away, I’m still sunshine. This mentality will set you free from your heartbreak. Take time to read books & attend seminars that will equip you for marriage. You don’t prepare in marriage, you prepare for marriage. If your priority is to love people first before loving yourself, you are not in line with the divine agenda.

Self-love facilitates self-development. It helps to settle down with books and materials that will protect your vision. By self-love, you can be alone for long period without requiring anyone to make you feel good.

The most important relationship in life is intra-personal. If your intrapersonal relationship fails, don’t expect success out of your interpersonal relationship. People who have self-love are influential. They don’t need validation or approval from anyone to have a positive self-image. When they dress, they don’t need you to tell them that they look nice to feel good. You can keep your comment in your pocket.

Self-love protects destiny, secures vision, and breaks traditions without an apology. When you love yourself, you will resign from that job that doesn’t allow you to pursue your dreams without considering people’s opinions. It helps you to walk in line with God’s agenda for your destiny. It helps to build a thick skin, when people walk away from your blog, you are not discouraged because when you started there was nobody. You began alone. You began the beginning the same way your Father began the beginning of creation – the devil did not begin anything. Self-lovers are initiators. They are the ones who bring bearing to generations. With self-love, you’re making a difference.

Self-love allows you to fly with the eagles because you are an eagle. Stop hanging around the pigeons. When you love yourself, some people will think you are crazy or arrogant. It’s normal for them to think that way. You’ve to be abnormal to break the norms. Self-love is the key to destiny. Self-love will prevent you from drug abuse and from being a smoker and an alcoholic. By loving yourself, you will nourish your body with good nutrients.

Jesus was a symbol of self-love. He didn’t let people’s opinions determine His judgments and discretion. That’s why He was successful at loving others. He had no problem relating with His disciples. He gave His life because He loves us and He didn’t expect anything loves back in return. Unconditional (Agape) love is a product of self-love. During His earthly ministry, He always talked about Himself positively. He didn’t say any negative thing about Himself because He knows who He is. Do you know who you are? He knows He came from Heaven. He knows He is the savior. He knows He is the son of God. He spoke about these all the time. If you love yourself, you’ll say positive things about yourself always. Jesus never spoke a negative word concerning himself throughout His ministry period on earth.

What you don’t have, you cannot give. Your love for your neighbor is measured by how much you love yourself.

  1. “Self-love protects destiny, secures vision, and breaks traditions without an apology”. . .

For the longest, the issue of self love had been exaggerated and thrown out of context to mean: selfish.

Thank you for creating the balance here and letting me understand the true concept of self love and how it affects those around me.
