Choice: Pathway To Greatness

choice: pathway to greatness

choice: pathway to greatness

We live in a kingdom of choices, not chances; the outcome of your life is a function of your choices. Choice is powerful. One wrong choice can lead to a lifetime wreck.

There are some critical decisions that we make at certain phases of life that have a lasting impact on our lives, whether positively or negatively.

For instance, the choice of who to marry, what to study, which profession to pursue, and which business to put your money into If you are meant to be in education and you go into business, you will run bankrupt. The hands cannot do the work of the legs. Seek divine guidance with the help of the Holy Spirit. Don’t ever take a critical step in life without hearing from God.

If you miss it in marriage, you will miss it in life. The choice of who to marry is one of the most important decisions that you will ever make in life.

It is not difficult to know if you are taking the wrong steps. Choosing an unbeliever as your future husband or wife indicates that you have made the wrong decision. The word of God says, do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers (2 Cor 4:6).  In Amos 3:3, how can two work together unless they are agreed?

For those who are yet to be married, do not choose your spouse because you are John and she is Janet. Do not go into marriage out of lust; otherwise, it will soon rust. If you think you can change a man after marriage, you are deceiving yourself. If he is not in God’s presence before marriage, he will not come to God’s presence after marriage.

Beware of Wrong Choice Of Association

Friendship is not by force; it is by choice. It is better to walk alone than to be in the wrong company. The company that you keep determines what accompanies you. The word of God says, he that walk with the wise shall be wise but a companion of fools shall be destroyed (Proverbs 13:20). Do not be deceived: evil communication corrupts good manners (1 Corinthians 15:33).

Don’t blame God for your predicament. You are responsible for the outcome of your life. No sin has any power over you unless you agree to it. Your consent is needed to disobey God.

Nobody commits fornication, adultery, accepts a bribe, lies, or steals without agreeing to them. You have the power of choice to resist smoking and drinking alcohol, irrespective of peer pressure. Anytime you are craving that a wrong habit, resist it with the blood of Jesus, and the evil hunger will go away. Living anyhow is evidence of a lack of purpose. When the purpose of something is not known, abuse is inevitable. That’s why you drink excessively and smoke wide because you do not know the motivation for your creation.

Godliness is your pathway to greatness, in other words, your journey to greatness begins with godliness. Some biblical examples include Joseph and Daniel. When Joseph saw himself on the throne, he knew that Portiphar’s house was just a passage, he packaged himself dangerously to get there, and he got there. Even when he was in prison, he was a reigning king in his mind. You see, you can’t have where you are going and not package yourself to get there. Daniel would rather die than defile himself with the portion of the king’s meat (Daniel 1:8).

It’s not uncommon to hear people say If you can’t beat them, join them. You can’t beat them by joining them, you’ll remain under their control.

Choose to be different. Because everyone does it, that does not mean that you should do it.

Why fit in when you were born to stand out? – Dr. Seuss

By choice, Daniel reigned with kings. The aces are in your hands.

  1. Amen Chris. I can relate to the words you used here. In life it is all about the choices, my choices are mine and no one is to blame but me if I make a bad call.

I will praise God and the Lord Jesus all the time because I am grateful to be alive, 2022 is ending in a few weeks and I just thank God for watching over me during this year it was a hectic one but alas I am still breathing, many have lost their loved ones and I just am super grateful and will continue to behave myself🙏🙏

    1. Mthobisi, I appreciate your valuable comment. I’m glad that my post resonated with you. Thanksgiving is also a choice. If we are not joyful we will be fretful. I thank God too for keeping me and my family alive all through the year 2022. Many did not make it through but thank God that we made it and we shall continue to witness many more years. God bless your heart❤️
