The Secret of Rest

The secret of rest

Rest is the cardinal mark of faith. When Jesus told the fig tree to dried up, He did not stay there to watch if it would happen because of His confidence in the power of God, He left. It was His disciples who later saw that the decree that Jesus issued Has come to be (Mark.11:20).

There is a place of rest that you must have entered before God comes in. Your being fretted and despondent will not move God. In a doubled wrestling matches, a partner outside the ring must tap the hands of the one inside the ring before he comes inside, failure to do so is regarded as a foul play. So also, you will need to tap God’s hands for him to comes in.

Hannah cried and worried, she was fretted and heavied. But, when she came out of her worries and put a vow on her request, went home and worried no more, then God came in. The result – she got a baby. 1.Sam.1:10-20

It is the jet set age with so much jostling and bustling here and there, even Christians are caught up in the web. People are running helter skelter. A good Christian will always be composed because of his conscious of God’s presence.

During Jesus earthly ministry, there was no strain found in Him, He was always composed and calmed. Even when His disciples were ruled by the fear of the storm, He could afford to sleep because He was very conscious that God’s presence – though I don’t believe that Jesus was actually sleeping since He could see there troubles, but He was at comfort.

What can you do about it? What are you going to eat, drink, wear are always clamouring for your attention. Did you know that there are some Christians even when they are praying their minds will be racing from one issue to another: thinking of how to pay the school fees of the children who are about to resume in a week time, how to deal with a disrespectful house wise who doesn’t know how to respect her husband, etc – he has not prayed intelligent for a single item yet thereby rendering the whole process ineffective.

Don’t think that your much worries and cries  will ever move God. God has not called you to meditate on your problems, but he has called you to meditate on his word and obey them.

“This book of law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous and have good success.” Jos.1:8

If you wait for something spectacular to drop from heaven before you put His word to work, you will wait for ever.

Ceased from all fruitless labour and enter into a place of rest in our lord Jesus Christ.

Trusting God 2

Trusting God in Godly living

We make our marks in life by trusting God. God specializes at lifting and building men but our trust in His ability to perform His promises is a prerequisite.

When faith graduated into trust every element of doubt is destroyed. Many of us want the blessings of Abraham but have the faith of Thomas. Life cannot be sweet than the level of our faith.

“If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. [6] But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. [7] For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord. [8] A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.” -JMS.1:5-8

What is trust?

Trust is a deep-seated conviction – this implies that you are not daunted by the situations or happenings around you, this means that  you’re listening to what the WORD is saying irrespective of what the WORLD is saying

 Some Biblical Instances of Trust

By trust, Abraham became the father of nations. Immortality swallowed up mortality in Abraham as he was ever ready to sacrifice his only long awaited son. He trusted God in His ability to deliver.

“And Abraham took the wood of the burnt offering, and laid it upon Isaac his son; and he took the fire in his hand, and a knife; and they went both of them together. [7] And Isaac spake unto Abraham his father, and said, My father: and he said, Here am I, my son. And he said, Behold the fire and the wood: but where is the lamb for a burnt offering? [8] And Abraham said, My son, God will provide himself a lamb for a burnt offering: so they went both of them together. [9] And they came to the place which God had told him of; and Abraham built an altar there, and laid the wood in order, and bound Isaac his son, and laid him on the altar upon the wood. [10] And Abraham stretched forth his hand, and took the knife to slay his son. [11] And the angel of the Lord called unto him out of heaven, and said, Abraham, Abraham: and he said, Here am I. [12] And he said, Lay not thine hand upon the lad, neither do thou any thing unto him: for now I know that thou fearest God, seeing thou hast not withheld thy son, thine only son from me. [13] And Abraham lifted up his eyes, and looked, and behold behind him a ram caught in a thicket by his horns: and Abraham went and took the ram, and offered him up for a burnt offering in the stead of his son.” – Gen.22:6-13

By trust, the three Hebrew boys were rescued. These boys said “O NEBUCHADNEZZAR – no title was involved – we are not careful to answer you in this matter.”  And God saw the dogged determination in them that they will not bow for the king’s golden image and His heart beat was like “I must rescue my children”. He delivered!

“Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego, answered and said to the king, O Nebuchadnezzar, we are not careful to answer thee in this matter. [17] If it be so , our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king. [18] But if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up.” – Dan.3:16-18

What are the proofs of trust?

1). Godliness – your trust stops where your Godly living ends. The fear of God is the capital proof your trust in God.

“But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; [16] Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.” – 1 Peter. 1:15-16

Godliness is the covenant key to greatness

“But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king’s meat, nor with the wine which he drank: therefore he requested of the prince of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself.” – Dan.1:8
“Then the king Nebuchadnezzar fell upon his face, and worshipped Daniel, and commanded that they should offer an oblation and sweet odours unto him.” – Dan.2:46

Choose to be different. Your choice overrun sin. We are who we are and what we are by our choices. The aces are in our hands.

By choice, Daniel reigned. By choice, Joseph ruled.

It’s never too late to turn. Things start turning the day you turn.

2). Obedience – Faith is an element of trust. Trust and faith are inseparable. While faith requires work to works. Faith without work is dead. That is, faith without you taking responsibilities lacks its potency.

“Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. [18] Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.” – JMS.2:17-18
“But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?” – JMS.2:20

Stop waiting, you’ve waited long enough. Enough is enough! It’s high time to act. Enter into the word of God by demonstrating its injunctions. It works! It works like fire!!

“But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. [23] For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: [24] For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was. [25] But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein , he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.” JMS.1:22-25

Wait a minute about this, unrepentant, undying and tireless obedience are the hallmarks of a winning believer. Obedience is the cardinal proof of trust.

Get this straight : put God first ( not yourself, not your spouse). Laziness is a satanic instrument. Subscribe into the obedience and all round flow of blessings will overtake you and your life will be become like a dream world.

“And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the Lord thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth: [2] And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God. [3] Blessed shalt thou be in the city, and blessed shalt thou be in the field.” Deu.28:1-3

“But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” – Matt.6:33
“When the Lord turned again the captivity of Zion, we were like them that dream.” – psm.126:1

In conclusion, it’s wisdom to make a U-turn when you’re heading to a road that leading to the wrong way. Live ready today; it might be too late to get ready. May open the eyes of your understanding.

May God open the eyes of your understanding to know how to trust him to the point of receiving rewards and blessings.

Anxiety – evidence of doubt

Anxiety is the cardinal evidence of doubt. Many are bound with fear due to ignorance of what the word says. A qualitative knowledge about the word of God will set you free from every rule of fear forever (2.Tim.1:7).

And, do you know what the scripture says concerning a doubtful man?

For let not that man think he shall receive anything from God.” JMS.1:7.

A time came when the Syrian government were waging war against the Israel. Whenever they made war planes and plan to attack Israel it always got leak to Prophet Elisha through divine intervention and the prophet always fed the king with the information.

Out of frustration, the Syrian army were sent to arrest the prophet. Gehazi, the prophet’s servant was almost paralyzed with fear. There was no strain found in the prophet because he could see into the spirit realm.

He prayed that his servant’s eyes popped open, and Gehazi too could see into the spirit and the host of angels that encamped them. He too became fearless.

Seeing into the spirit realm will always confer rest in the life of a believer.

It is a restless world. Helter skelter everyone runs. It is the jet set age. Consciously or unconsciously even believers are caught up in the web.

Many out of fear and anxiety rushed into prayers when they are confronted with a problem instead of going for the scripture first.   It is the incoming of the word that sparks off the light and illuminates around every dark area.

Many people think  their much worries, cries and complains will move God, this is another lie from the pit of hell.

Hannah was fretted and despondent. She cried and blamed everyone. She blamed God. She blamed her spouse and rival. And, God could not be moved. The tauting provocation of her husband almost drove her crazy.

Until you step out of the ring, don’t expect your partner (God) to steps in.

Stop listening to what the WORLD says concerning you issue. Start hearing to what the WORD says.

Jesus could not be daunted by the threats and provocations of the devil and the Jews during his earthly ministry. His presence made demons to cry out his name and left their victims.

No strain was found in Jesus during his earthly ministry, He was always calmed and composed.

Even when his disciples were wearing out themselves frantically in a bid to save their lives, He could afford to sleep. And, when they remembered to invite him into the issue, he spoke and the storm was calmed.

Every storm (problem) of life has a way to it.  The bible is a solution book. It has  multi-purpose solutions to all problems. Busy yourself with God’s prime interest – kingdom interest – and see him busy himself with your earthly well-being.

Loose yourself from the shackles of religion. Shake off your feet from the dust. Embrace the truth today and be free from the devil’s fold.

Releasing the power of faith

Understanding the power of faith

What is faith?

Faith is not a believe system.

Faith is not waiting.

Faith is an act or action

“And, behold, a woman, which was diseased with an issue of blood twelves years, came behind him, and touched the hem of his garment.” Mat.9:20

Faith is working out our miracles by putting God’s word to work. Faith is work. Faith is dead alone – faith without work is dead.

Even so faith, if it hath not works is dead being alone. Yea, a man may say. Thou hast faith, and I have no works: show me thy faith without thy works, and I will show thee my faith by my works. But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?” James.2:17-18/20

What are in the power of faith?

1). Both positive and negative forces in all spheres of existence bow to the power of faith – even death bows to the power of faith.

These things said he: and after that he saith unto them, our friend Lazarus sleepeth; but I go, that I may awake him out of sleep.” Jn.11:11

2). Faith has the potency to unseat every force of the wicked that is sitting on your destiny – your can return back to the sender every arrow of the enemy.

Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all fiery darts of the wicked.” Eph.6:16

3). There is power in faith which enables you to have it just the way you want it in life – This is why you have to give up the impossibility syndrome – move out of the box, you can cause things to happen in life by faith.

“And Jesus looking upon them saith, with men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible.” Mark.10:27, Mat.19:26; Lk.18:27

*It is noteworthy that those that will scale through in these hard times are only those that will live by faith.

“Behold, his soul which is lifted up is not upright in him: but he just shall live by his faith.” Hab.2:4

“For the therein is the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, the just shall live by faith.” Rom.1:17

How can I develop my faith?

While new birth qualifies you as a potential winner in Christ, faith establishes your victory in Christ. Faith is the hall mark of a winning Christian.

It takes time to develop faith. Some of us want the blessings of Abraham and have the faith of Thomas. Life cannot be beautiful than your faith’s level. However, here are the steps to build your faith:

a). Take a daily dose of God’s word

“So faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God.” Rom.10:17

b). Maintain a consistence prayer life. Makes kingdom focused prayers your life style. (Mat.6:6, 1Thes. 5:17)

C). Join the foot soldiers of Christ by hunting after lost souls on the harvest field.  Soul winning is not a talent neither a gift. It is a mandate.

“Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye ask of the father in my name, he will give it unto you.” Jn.15:16.

d). Always maintain a joyful heart in every situation. And, always see into the realm of the spirit.

God is a spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.” Jn.4:24

e). Deprogram yourself from negative thoughts and sound your positive desires. (Prov.18:21; 23:7)

f). Pray in the Holy Ghost. In order to build your faith you must engage the Holy Spirit in your prayer.

But, ye, beloved, building up yourself on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost.” Jude.1:20

Your mouth is your destiny moulder

Your

Your mouth is your destiny moulder. A closed mouth is a closed destiny. The most seemingly impossible situation can takes a new shape at the incessant prophetic sounds.

There is no situation that can be as hopeless as that of Ezekiel chapter 37. But by prophetic sound, drew from God’s word declared to the prophet, a mighty revival erupted. The Dried bones came alive.

As you make a prophetic sound concerning your situation today, every dead organ in your body receives life in the name of Jesus.

You don’t close your mouth when the enemy is around. David already chopped off the head of Goliath with is mouth before the actual killing took place. You must make sounds in line with what you believe.

“For I will give you a mouth and a wisdom, which all you adversaries shall not be able to gainsay or resist.” Lk.21:15

Many Christians have brought problems into their lives by making dangerous sounds. All you here them say is that “the economic situation in the country is bad,” “things are bad,” “my sickness is fever,” “I’m coming back next year to right this exam.”

With the in depth knowledge from the fountain of revealed truth, when people talk about sickness, count yourself out of it; when people talk about poverty, see yourself out of it; when people talk about failure, see yourself out of it.

“Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross.” Col.2:14

Every genuine child of God is a peculiar person who has been redeemed and marked out for exemption from all negative situations and circumstances.

But you are chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation; a peculiar people; that ye should show forth the praise of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light.” 1.Pet.2:9.

You are what you say in conjunction with what you think. This is neither positive thinking nor psychology. This is drawing life from the fountain of revealed truths.

“Death and life are in the power of the tongue.” Prov.18:21

As he thinketh in his earth so is he.” Prov.23:7

Don’t forget that the angels of God are meant to serve you, any sound you release into the atmosphere, the angels are at you service to execute them. They will make sure that they come to be.

“For there stood by this night the angel of God, whose i am, and whom I serve.” Acts.27:23

Repent of all dangerous sounds that you have made in the time past.

And I must tell you this, you must not just say anything. You must make a declaration according God’s word. Your sound will be void of power without having its root from God’s word, this is the reason why you have to be word loaded.

And lastly, your mouth is not meant for decoration, it is meant for bold declaration. “Open thy mouth wide, and I will fill it.” Psalm.81:10.

God  will not rise up to the occasion to defend his word if you don’t say anything.
