The healing covenant

The Healing Covenant , That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the Prophet saying Himself took our infirmities and Bare our sickness math8:17

If we trace from the old history of God’s dealing with man we will find out that healing is God’s will.

Our God is good and He has good plans for His children to live in good health.

We can buttress this point from 3.Jn1:2

3 John 1:2 KJV
Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.

GOD HEALING COVENANT WITH ISRAEL
There are 156 occurrences of the words heal, healer, healeth, healing and health in the bible

This covenant is a divine plan by which God heals all those who are in covenant relationship with him and keep them healthy.

Although God has an unfailingly healing and health plans for mankind yet there are people who because they have not come to the covenant relationship with God are not enjoying it.

He is called Jehovah’s Ropheka “I am the lord that healeth thee or I am the lord the healer. God made covenant with His chosen people ISRAEL in the old testament. He promised to keep the Israelites from the diseases by which the Egyptians were afflicted was made at the instance of the healing covenant.

Though, they were however required to obey and keep God’s commandments in order to enjoy this divine healing and health covenant.

This covenant is between two parties God and man and the covenant also has two parts, first, the condition, second, the promises or benefits to be claimed

When the conditions are met, the benefits naturally follows for He is a faithful God who is able to perform His promises

CONDITIONS
(1). Covenantee should diligently hearken to God’s voice.
(2). To do which is right in the sight of God
(3). To give ear to God’s commandments.
(4). To keep all His statutes
To serve the lord, these conditions apply to us today

We should also not neglect the basic value of hygiene when you did all these things.
God said:
Exodus 15:26 KJV
And said, If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the Lord thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the Lord that healeth thee.

Exodus 23:25 KJV
And ye shall serve the Lord your God, and he shall bless thy bread, and thy water; and I will take sickness away from the midst of thee.

Before we enjoy the covenant today
(1). We must have faith in God
Hebrews 6:12 KJV
That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.

Hebrews 11:6 KJV
But without faith it is impossible to please him : for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

(2). We must pray
Luke 18:1 KJV
And he spake a parable unto them to this end , that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;
(3). We need to rightly appropriate the promises of healing covenant became the part of the new covenant “the covenant of grace” when it was instituted, all those who are born again are made partakers of the new testament “healing covenant” through Jesus’ death on the cross.

Isaiah took us back to the institution of the covenant

Isaiah 53:4-5 KJV
Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. [5] But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

Matthew 8:17 KJV
That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses.

1 Peter 2:24 KJV
Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

PROVISION THROUGH THE COVENANT
Today our healing covenant is based upon better provision through the finished work of Christ at calvary – the covenant which God made with the Israelites is now made available to choose by everyone who believe in Christ.
