The gospel of Jesus Christ has zero tolerance for poverty. “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor;(Luke.4:18).” It’s crystal clear that poverty did not come from Jesus. Poverty is from the devil.
The spirit of the lord was upon Jesus, firstly to preach the gospel to the poor. If you finally end up as a pauper you will disappoint Jesus. There is a need for reorientation and a change in our poverty mentality.
God has not called us into sufferings and buffetings unlike the way many believers will say today “this is my cross, I have my cross to bear ” Understand that, there is only one cross and it has been used, there is only one blood and it has been shed. When you’re not Jesus, how would you carry a cross – your blood can’t even save an ant talk less of a human. The gospel of Jesus Christ is cheaply to be preached when there is prosperity to show for. Because your life will simply attracts the lives of others to Christ. We are center of attraction!
God is always happy when you are rich and prosper. “Let them shout for joy, and be glad, that favour my righteous cause: yea, let them say continually, Let the Lord be magnified, which hath pleasure in the prosperity of his servant (Psalm.35:27).”
“Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth(3John.1:2).”
You see, God utmost concern for your life is to see you swimming in an ocean of prosperity.
Prosperity is not our ambition; it’s our birthright. The law of the universe demands that all parents to simply duplicate themselves into their offsprings. The son of a dog is a dog. Likewise in plant living, the fruit of a mango is a mango. It follows that the son of God is a god. “I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High (Psalms. 82:6).” “If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken (John10:35).”
Ignorance of this has made many to loose their rights of being a sonship. The capital reason many born-again Christians are poor is nothing else but ignorance.
Many are sincere few are aware. Many are diligent but little are sensitive. If you don’t know that your father has some inheritances somewhere you won’t be able to claim them. Would you? It’s ignorance that made a king to walk on his bare foot to a far journey. It’s ignorance that made the son of a butcher to eat a bone.
I have heard had about a story of someone who entered into a flight and was served with dishes inside the plane. Then he asked for amount to be paid. He was ignorant of the fact that the amount he paid for his flight ticket has already covered the meals.
Wait a minute, Ignorance is a disease. Ignorance is cancerous. In fact, it has eaten deeply into the system of some people, even who called themselves Christians that have been running helter skelter to marabout (harberlist) for antidotes and ritual for making money. God says in His word, the silver is mine and the gold is mine (Haggai 1:8). No wonder God’s people are now captivity today. God’s people are destroyed for lack of knowledge (Hosea.4:6). They are His people but yet they are destroyed due ignorance.
The gospel of Jesus has zero tolerance for poverty. Firstly, Jesus was sent to deliver the poor. Jesus became poor so that we will become rich. “For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich.” (2.Cor.2:8).
Friend, poverty is surely deadly disease. It’s a thing not to settle for. Therefore, Think big and move out of the box. Move with the cloud! There are no impossibilities in Christ. With God all things are (surely surely) possible (Mat.19:26).
