Leadership Is Not Leading People

Leadership Is Not Leading People

There are always many workers than leaders because leadership is expensive. Leadership is taking the lead and not leading people (as erroneously perceived). It’s a sacrifice. To become a leader, you must be stretched and go extra miles to accomplish a specific task. Whether you’re black or white, yellow or brown; a man or woman, short or tall, if you could pay the price, the world would begin to celebrate you.

Leadership isn’t ruling people but serving people. it can’t be imposed but conferred. Your quality input and excellence in your output in a specific field makes people refer to you as their leader. People used to think that politicians are the only leaders we have while this isn’t true, there are also leaders in every field. If some politicians receive some hand shakes from Bill Gate, it would go into their CV’S.

We serve our way to the top. David was in service when he was called to the throne. Joseph served his way to the top. Jesus served his way up to decoration. Be empowered by the spirit of servant hood.

Leadership is setting the pace, finding the path and blazing the trail. It’s setting examples for others to follow. Show me a man who is diligent in his business, you have find he who is the leader. Life is business! Leaders are those who go to work and actually work (it demands high level discipline). They are managers of self, time, energy and resources (If the TV box is stealing your time, it’s stealing your destiny. Go to hell! Say to that TV box)

When God created Adam, He gave him a managerial role to play (Gen.2:15). The require skill is management skill, you need to be trained for it. You need quality information about financial, human and material resources. Understanding equals outstanding anywhere, anyday, anytime. Leaders are thinkers. Leadership demands high level of intellectual cost. People who approach a subject matter with a common sense end up with a common result and that is why they are called common men (uncommon approach results into uncommon results). You need to approach life with a special knowledge by doing thorough findings on how it actually works. Then by applying the acquired knowledge . Wisdom is applied knowledge. Jesus the wisdom itself says,

Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man which built his house upon a rock: [25] And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock (Mat.7:24-25)

Leadership is expensive and that is why we have few leaders but many workers. We will always have plenty workers than leaders across generations. It demands high level 4d’s – decision, determination, dedication and discipline – to emerge as a leader. …….but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits ( Daniel 11:32). Exploits is expensive.

A comfort zone is a danger zone. There are no record breakers in their comfort zones. Breaking records require stretching out. Nothing becomes extraordinary on its own, it’s our extraordinary efforts that make it so. If everyone reading this would work at it, imagine how many leaders we would be having. A leader is not the one who is leading people but the one who is taking the lead in every field of life.

[12] Wherefore lift up the hands which hang down, and the feeble knees; [13] And make straight paths for your feet, lest that which is lame be turned out of the way; but let it rather be healed (Hebrews 12:12 -13).

Journey To Greatness

The level of greatness cannot supersede the level of your meekness. The meekest Moses was the greatest Moses in the land. Pride comes before fall. If you’re too big to serve God, then you’re too big to experience His promotion. God demotes people and promotes people. He is the lifter and builder of men. “Now the man Moses was very meek, more than all people who were on the face of the earth.” (Numbers.12:3) “And the LORD gave the people favour in the sight of the Egyptians. Moreover, the man Moses was very great in the land of Egypt, in the sight of Pharaoh’s servants, and in the sight of the people.” (Exodus.11:3) “For promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south. But God is the judge: He putteth down one, and setteth up another” (Psalm.75:6-7)

Reading. If you read today, it’ll show tomorrow. A reader today, a leader tomorrow. Poor leadership in Africa is traceable to poor reading. My people here would say, “someone who does not sit cannot become the leader.” Meaning that only those who sit at their work become leaders.

Impact. Life isn’t about occupying a seat; it’s about actualizing a feat. It isn’t about your position; it’s about your contribution. It isn’t about your possession; it is about your distribution. It isn’t about what you take; it’s about what you give. Jesus Christ, our perfect example, came for the people. If your business (or career) isn’t adding value to people, it’s irrelevant.

Opportunities. Opportunities are building blocks of which destinies are built. The highway of life is dotted with blocks of opportunity. Yesterday is gone forever. No rewind. No replay. Every shell that you don’t pick at the seashore goes back to the sea. Opportunity lost may never be regained. The best way to maximize opportunity is to make a timely move.

Serve God. Every opportunity to serve God is an opportunity to get blessed. God isn’t a user of men; He blesses people. You’re not working for God; you’re working with God (you are partnering with God). In an earthly partnership, every active partner is entitled to a dividend; in the same vein, kingdom partnership guarantees you supernatural rewards. Serving God does not reduce people but expands them. Nothing remains worse serving God and the interest of His kingdom.

“And behold, I come quickly, and my reward is with me, to give every man according to his work shall be” – Revelation.22:12

Choice. Life’s a choice. Your choice in life determines your lot. We live in a kingdom of choices, not chances (life is practical, not mystical). Your choice is your right in this kingdom. Constitutionally, there’s freedom of choice. Nobody can choose for you – the aces are in your hands. Everyone is responsible for the outcome of his life. Don’t blame God; blame yourself. Don’t question God; question yourself. If you point one finger to your parents or brothers, the remaining four fingers point to you.

I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:” – Deut. 30:19

Understand your identity. Nobody knows you better than yourself. No matter natural men opinion about you, their view is their view. Your true picture can be found in the scripture. You are a special breed and peculiar being. But ye are a chose generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light.” (1Peter.2:9)You belong to a royal family which is the family of Christ. You are a glorious son and daughter of God. You are not meant to be pitied; you are meant to be envied. Stop living pitifully; start looking beautiful. Your destiny in Christ is an envious destiny. God has predestined your destiny for glorification.

“For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.” (Romans. 8:29-30)

For he had possession of flocks, and possession of herds, and great store of servants: and the Philistines envied him.” (Gen. 26:14)

Therefore, I don’t care what a mortal man said about you, your true identity is rooted in the scripture. you’re a glorious child of God; you’re beautifully and wonderfully made. Your destiny is an envious destiny. “When men are casting down, we shall be saying there is lifting up.” When men are cast down, then thou shall say, There is lifting up; and he shall save the humble person,” (Job.22:29)

Godliness. According to a common proverbial statement, If you can’t beat them, join them. That statement is satanic. You can’t beat them by joining them. otherwise, you’ll remain under them. choose to be different.

“Why fit in when you were born to stand out.” – Dr. Seuss

By choice, Daniel and Joseph reigned. Daniel would rather die than defile himself with the portion of the king’s meat. Joseph had already seen himself on the throne, and he wouldn’t allow his destiny to be trashed in Potiphar’s house; he knew that the house of Potiphar was only a passage. Your journey to greatness begins with Godliness.
