Winning the War Against Worry

In this post, you will learn how to win the war against unproductive living which I called worry. How Can You Win the War Against Worry?

(1). By Engaging in Active Praise & Thanksgiving As a Lifestyle

Probably, you’ve sown seeds, you’ve paid tithes and offerings; prayed for the lost, and reached out to them, but you are yet to experience open rewards, it’s time to water your seed with praise and Thanksgiving.

The reason why most of your seeds have failed to yield returns is because of your complains. Nothing kills seeds faster than grumblings and murmurings. While complains complicate matters, murmuring messes up situation.

When you turn all your bitterness and hatred to praise and thanksgiving, the miraculous will flow more in your life. Praise brings about to increase, fosters multiplication, brings down God’s presence, and adds a seal of favor over your life.

If you are not depressed, you cannot be oppressed. The devil depresses people first before he oppressed them. Don’t be a victim.

Stop worries. At Shiloh, Hannah worried, fretted, and blamed her husband, blamed God, but nothing happened. But when she turned her bitterness into thanksgiving, God stepped into her affairs. You can’t move God by worries, but by faith. Faith is praised amid hopeless situations. When Paul and Silas recoursed to praise and thanksgiving in the prison, God stepped in. If you need divine intervention on any issue of concern, adds praise to your efforts. When you pray, you seek God but when you praise God, you see God. Praise is where God lives. “But thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel” – Psalm.22:3.

(2). By Discovering Your Assignment

The most unproductive activity on earth is worry – it steals time and joy. That’s why the Bible says, “Therefore do not worry, saying (worry is expressed by what you say), ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ – Mathew.6:31. God knows that you need all these things but He wants you to focus on your assignment (to God, your assignment is more important than your needs). If God could decorate the lilies which is a plant, He will decorate and add colors to your life. But even lilies have a purpose to fulfill. It was decorated so that it can attract insects. Everything that God created has a purpose, including you. Therefore, God wants you to discover and focus on your assignment and every other thing will run after you.

But seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto youMathew.6:33.

No weeping is permitted beyond a night, your present situation is only temporary, don’t make a permanent decision in it. Whatever has a beginning will surely come to an end.

“For surely there is a hereafter, And your hope will not be cut off” Proverbs.28:18.

“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end” – Jeremiah.29:11.

“For the vision is yet for an appointed time; But at the end, it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; Because it will surely come, It will not tarry” – Habakkuk.2:3.

There is always a light at the end of the tunnel.

Discovering Your Talent

There is no time to experiment with life. You are not getting younger anymore. This is the time to discover your talent and get busy with it. Every work is lucrative. It all depends on the way you handle it. God does not want you to die on that job. Understand that your job is temporal. Your talent is permanent. They can fire you from your job. But they cannot fire you from your work. Your job is the things you learn to do. Your talent is the thing you are born to do. Your job brings you a salary. Your talent brings you wealth.

A wise man once said the wealthiest place on earth is the graveyard. Buried in the graveyard were books that were never written, songs that were never heard, businesses that were never opened, ministries that were never started, and paintings that were never painted. You are about to add to the wealth of the graveyard. You have had a great business idea for the past 20 years but you are still stuck on that job waiting for your next paycheck.

The Bible says, “your young men shall see the vision, and the old men will dream.” Acts.2:17. No matter the age you are right now, it’s not too late to start all over again. Abraham caught his vision at 75; Joseph started dreaming at 17. Your age bracket notwithstanding, you can start daydreaming again. When you were a child you dreamt of becoming a doctor. There were so many great things you dreamt about. But as you grow, they began to tell you “be real” and “stop being childish”. It’s time to be childish again. In most cases, your childhood dreams are your real purpose. Your daydream is your purpose.

You are going to that job because you have to not because you want to go. The fear of people is the greatest dream killer. Most of your dreams have become nightmares just because of people’s opinions. Many of you are living by what parents, guardians, teachers, employers, spouses, and so on say that you are. The truth is that nobody knows the purpose of a product better than the manufacturer. You are God’s product, He is your manufacturer, and the Bible is your manual. If you want to know who you are, get busy studying the scripture. The secret of who you are, why you were born, and what you were born to do is with God, not your parents. You need the Holy Spirit to reveal it to you.

“When Jesus came to the region of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, “Who do people say the Son of Man is?” They replied, “Some say John the Baptist; others say Elijah; and still others, Jeremiah or one of the prophets. ” But what about you?” he asked. “Who do you say I am?” Simon Peter answered, “You are the Christ, the son of the living God.” Jesus replied, “Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by man, but by my Father in heaven.” – Mathew. 15:13-18

Be nice to people because you don’t know what they are carrying. There is a vast potential inside of you which can only be activated until you discover your purpose. Don’t look for a job; look for a vision. The greatest tragedy in life is not death. It is to pass through life without discovering your talent.
