One of the biggest problems facing humanity is depression. When depression set in, inertia comes to play. Inertia is a period of lack of activity. Meaning that people facing depression lose interest in what they used to do enjoyably. Behind depression, there is a spirit of heaviness. How can you overcome the Spirit of heaviness?

Depression is a stealer of joy. The thief (the devil) comes to steal, kill and destroy. If you are not depressed, you cannot be oppressed. It’s a wicked strategy to first depress people to oppress them.
The cure for depression is praise. There are no frustrated praise warriors – there are frustrated prayer warriors.
There is divine visitation in praise. Abraham was giving God glory when God visited Sarah. I do not know what is believing in God for, probably you have waited for a long without any result. You’ve prayed and been to several mountains and yet there is nothing to show for it. It’s time to change your approach by adding praise to your efforts.
“He did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God,” (Romans.4:20).
Hannah fretted and worried. She blamed God. She blamed her husband but nothing happened. But when she stopped weeping and changed her sad countenance to joy. The miraculous exploded. If you think that your weeping will move God, that is another lie from the pit of hell. God is only moved by your faith. When Jesus cried, nothing happened (there was no miracle). For all those who came to Jesus with a cry, the first thing He did was to comfort them. Then followed a miracle.

Praising God in the midst of a hopeless situation is a sign of strong faith. Paul and Silas demonstrated strong faith by recourse to praise in the prison and God showed up (See Acts.16:25-34).
Multiplication is a product of appreciation. Nothing dies in the hands of a praise warrior (whether business or career). Praise expands people. The reason many people are small in life is a lack of praise (See Jeremiah.30:19).
“Let the people praise thee, O God; let all the people praise thee.”
“Then shall the earth yield her increase; and God, even our own God, shall bless us.” – Psalm.67:5-6
I will leave you with this scripture:
Awake, awake, Zion, clothe yourself with strength! Put on your garments of splendor, Jerusalem, the holy city. The uncircumcised and defiled will not enter you again.
Shake off your dust; rise up, sit enthroned, Jerusalem. Free yourself from the chains on your neck, Daughter Zion, now a captive.
For this is what the LORD says: “You were sold for nothing, and without money, you will be redeemed. – Isaiah.52:1-3
