The Mystery Of The Holy Spirit – Series Two

In the first series of this teaching we discussed that the Holy Spirit is one Spirit but diverse in operations:

Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit (1 Cor.12:4).

And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all (1. Cor.12:6)

For to one is given by the Spirit of the word of Wisdom; to another the world of knowledge by the same Spirit (1. Cor.12:8)

Part of the things we discussed last week was that the Holy spirit is the spirit of obedience, revelation, excellence, boldness, wisdom, “quickening-spirit,” etc. I also wrote that the subject matter “Holy Spirit” is hardly discussed but it’s one of the most essential subjects in the school of faith. However, today i will be discussing about the spirit of boldness and fear of God.

The Spirit of Boldness

The Holy spirit is the spirit of boldness, It takes boldness to get God to confirm His word. Peter who was a shaking reed before the Holy Spirit came, became Peter, “the rock” after the Holy Spirit has come. Before the Holy Spirit came, Peter could not move an ant, he denied Jesus three times because he was gripped by fear. When the Holy spirit arrived in Acts chapter 2, the giant in him awoke. On the day of Pentecost, Peter preached, about 3000 souls were converted at the spot. Boldness is the key word here, the mystery behind the explosion of miracles in the ministry of the Apostles was boldness facilitated by the empowerment of the Holy Spirit. They were preaching everywhere with confidence and God was confirming His word with signs and wonders (Acts.4:13).

Clarification About Speaking In Tongues

Speaking in tongues and boldness are the only evidences of the baptism of the Holy Spirit found in the scripture (not rolling on the floor as many have perceived). In most cases, those who roll on the floor are this who need deliverance from demonic spirits. Speaking in tongues is not nonsense (as many erroneously believe), it’s speaking mysteries. The devil is confused when you speak in an unknown tongue. It is a good way to outsmart the enemy and build a robust faith.

But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost, (Jude.1:20).

The Spirit of The Fear of God

While sin inflicts fear, the fear of God instils boldness. Adam sinned and the first statement he made was “I’m afraid.” The scripture says: the wicked flee when no man pursueth: but the righteous is as bold as lion (Proverbs.28:1).

For instance, assuming that you fornicated last night or let’s say you robbed a bank (God forbid), the following day you went to a church and the preacher asked that if there were fornicators or armed robbers who robbed or fornicated last night should raise up their hands. How many of you reading this would raise hands up in this kind of scenario? Definitely not because you would be afraid. Free yourself from the dungeon of fear by embracing godly living.

Every time you disobey, you’re selling off your birthright, your birth right is too precious, don’t sell it off. The spirit of the fear of God is also known as the spirit of the holy gods. This is one of the spirits found in Daniel.

O Belteshazzar, master of the magicians, because i know that the spirit of the holy gods is in thee, and no secret troubleth thee, tell me the visions of my dream that i have seen, and the interpretation thereof (Daniel.4:9)

Benefits Of Having Spirit Of The Fear Of God

At this point, I will like to emphasis more on benefits of the fear of God – also known as the Spirit of godliness. Where your fear for God stops is where your greatness stops. The level of your greatness cannot supersede the level of your godliness. The journey to your greatness begins with the godliness.

Because Joseph could already saw himself on the throne, he would not allow his destiny to be trashed in Portiphar’s house. He knew where he was going; he knew that Portiphar’s house was only a passage. So, he packaged himself dangerously so that his destiny would not be truncated. He was in the prison, he was like a reigning king in his mind (You can’t have where you are going and not package yourself to get there). Daniel would rather die than to defile himself with the portion of the king’s meat (Dan.1:8); same Daniel was relevant all through the reign of six kings.

But Daniel Purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king’s meat, nor with the wine which he drank; therefore he requested of the prince of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself (Daniel.1:8).

Hear this: your tomorrow is determined by the level of your righteousness today. There is this common saying that goes as thus: “if you cannot beat them, join them.” This is a satanic statement, You can’t beat them by joining them, you’ll remain under them. Choose to be different. As a genuine Christian, you don’t belong to the world of bribery and corruption.

Wealth gotten by vanity will diminish with time but he that gather by labour shall increase. Clean prosperity is your covenant right in Christ. It is the blessings of the lord that maketh rich and add no sorrow with it. The fear of God is the gateway to supernatural wealth and flourished business. There are many sicked businesses and business owners today that need the treatment of righteousness. I have been young, and now am old; yet have i not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread (Psalm.37:25).

The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree: he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon (Psalm 92:12)

Therefore brethren, here is the truth: The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: and the holy is understanding (Proverbs.9:10). Those who take God for granted are grounded in life. Don’t be bigger than God. Sin ruptured the link between man and God, Man, God’s favourite, became the devil’s meat. Thank God for Jesus who has redeemed us. To maintain the right connection with God with a constant flow of overflowing blessings, The fear of God is a MUST.
