What You Sow Is What You Reap

Anyone can be a world-class beggar if they choose to be. If wishes were horses, all beggars would ride. You can’t eat your cake and have it. If you are not a worker, you will be a beggar. Things only work for workers.  What you don’t work, won’t work. You can only receive out of life what you put into it. You are redeemed as a giver, not a taker.

Your destiny in Christ is an envious destiny. Stop looking pitiful; start looking beautiful. You are not meant to be pitied, but to be envied. For he had possession of flocks, a possession of herds, and a great store of servants, and the Philistines ENVIED him. (Genesis 26:14). Begging and borrowing erode your redemptive dignity. “…you shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow.” (Deut.28:12)

Those who labour are found by favour. Stop hanging around with Jesus doing nothing. You have hung around greatness long enough. Now, step into it. It’s doing nothing that frustrates people. Jesus hates idleness (See Mat.20:3-6). He says, “Occupy till I come.” (Luke.19:13). That is, do business till I come. Life is a business. If you don’t do business with life, you’ll go bankrupt. God works. And Jesus works. But Jesus replied, My Father is always working, and so am I. (John.5:17). A man who doesn’t work should not eat.

You don’t have to have a glamorous job title to succeed in life.….WHATEVER you do shall prosper,” (Psalm.1:3). If the Lord’s blessings could be seen in the life of a pepper seller, how much more would you be? You can blog your way to success; you can write your way to success, and you can be an artist and succeed. There is no profession that is inferior to the others. Your spiritual content is what makes all the difference. No spiritual content can ever be grounded in life.  Start doing something.

Nothing sells like excellence in life. If barbering is your calling, do it excellently. If you want to be a fashion designer, you should strive for excellence. Those who approach life with common sense are referred to as “common men,” and their results are also common. To be successful in your field, you must have specialized knowledge. You are supposed to take the lead in your field. “And the LORD will make you the head and not the tail; you shall be above only, and not be beneath, if you heed the commandments of the LORD your God, which I command you today, and are careful to observe them.” (Deut.28:13)

“Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your might; for there is no work or device or knowledge or wisdom in the grave where you are going. (Ecc.9:10)

Information is the vehicle that drives vision. To be informed is to transform; to be uninformed is to be deformed. If you’re not building a library, you are building a mortuary unwittingly. It is your know-how that determines the level of your success in your field. There is a gross deficiency of capacity in the body of Christ. Michael Faraday did not have as much education like you, but he became a preacher and inventor via self-development. Build capacity.

You can’t plant oranges and reap apples; you can’t harvest on someone else’s farm; you can’t sleep during planting season and reap during harvest season. As you lay in your bed, you sleep on it. What you sow is what you reap.
