Happy new month and happy first Sunday of the month.
If you are not joyful you will be fretful.
If you have ever lost anything God is the reason why you have never lost everything.
You are not sad because things are bad, things are bad because you are sad.
A day like this is a day of praise and thanksgiving. Cast your mind back in time and ceased this opportunity to appreciate God for all the good things that you received from him.
Today’s post focuses on praise
What is praise?
I would start by defining what praise is not. Praise is not mere entertainment, it is not just the clapping of hands and the singing of songs.
Praise is a commandment.
“Let everything that hath breath praise the lord. Praise ye the lord” pslms.150:6
Just like we have the prayer and fasting commandments. Praise is also a commandment of God.
Praise is God habitation.
“But thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest he praise of Israel.” PS.22:7
Praise a vital weapon for victory over the battles of life.
“And when they began to sing and to praise, the Lord set ambushments against the children of Ammon, Moab and mount Seir, which were come against Judah; and were smitten.” 2Chr.20:22
What are the Six Virtues of Praise?
1). The presence of God. If you Want to seek God, pray. If you want to see God, praise him. While God send angels to deliver answers to prayers, He come down himself when we praise him.
“And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them. And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundation of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and everyone’s band were loosed.” Acts.16:25-26.
You can’t cause things to happen in life by your power, it is God’s presence that makes them come to be.
2). The Favour of God – Praise facilitates God’s favour towards you. Favour colours your efforts and covers your errors. Praise fosters answered prayer.
“And when the daughter of the said Herodias came in, and danced, and pleased Herod and them that sat with him, the king said unto the damsel, ask of me whatsoever thou wilt, I will give it thee.” Mark.6:22.
The king here represents God. God is the king of kings. If you can put away shame and dance before the king, your heart desires will be cheaply granted.
3). An Avalanche of Revelation. Nothing came to be in life outside revelation. You can’t cause things to happen in life without Revelation. Revelation which you can get by engaging in spiritual activities in which praise is among. Manifestation is a function of revelation.
“But my horn shalt thou exalt like the horn of an unicorn: I shall be anointed with fresh oil.” PS.92:10
Fresh oil implies fresh revelation. You don’t wait for the oil inside the engine of your car to go stale before you change it, this is why you must maintain a praise lifestyle. In fact, I have never seen any frustrated praise warrior. You can’t be stranded of ideas by praising God.
This was the secret behind the working of the miraculous during Jesus’ earthly ministry. He always knew what to do. Whenever they were faced with hopeless circumstance, He gave thanks and the supernatural follows, multiplication follows. Nothing goes down in praise (Mark.8:6; Jer.30:19).
Let me tell you this testimony, my blog page has experienced unprecedented numbers of followers and likes last month. God has no problem in skyrocketing your business if you can obey his commandments.
4). Victory over defeat. Those who praise God when the battle is on, become spectators in their battles. They watch God taking over their battles and winning them.
“And when they began to sing and to praise, the Lord set ambushments against the children of Ammon, Moab, and mount Seir, which were come against Judah and they were smitten.” 2.Chr.20:22.
Some Profitable Approaches to Praise
1). Praise God shamelessly. It is foolishness to be shameful of what is gainful. Despite all royalties, king David danced before God – breaking royal protocols.
“And David danced before the lord with all his might; and David was girded with a linen ephod.” 2.Sam.6:14
2). Praise God with understanding – don’t just do it casually. God’s people are perishing because they lack knowledge (Hos.4:6). So, do it with reward’s mentality.
We just don’t praise God for what we received, but we also praise God for what we are expecting and yet to arrived. If you wait for something spectacular to manifest before you enter praise, you will wait forever.
3). Praise God with a loud voice. There is no silent praise.
“Make a joyful noise unto the lord, all the earth: make a loud noise, and rejoice, and sing praise.” PS.98:4.
4). Praise God fervently. The more you put fervency in your praise the more the rewards you receive. It is to everyman according to his work.
“And, Behold, I come quickly; my reward is with me, to give everyman according to his works shall be.” Rev.22:12
5). Praise God diligently (Eph1:16).
6). Praise God everyday (1.Tes.1:2).
The kind of praise I’m talking about is not just church activism, I’m talking about a praise lifestyle. Praise is the cheapest way to draw the hand of God.
As put on the garment of praise today and dance before the king, all your enemies will help kill each other. Your praise will intoxicate God that He will cheaply grant you all your heart desires in the name of Jesus.
