Living in Dignity

Dignity is the hallmark of a winning believer. The call into service isn’t a call into a life bombarded with sufferings and regrets – I have never regret serving God for once in my life. God isn’t calling us to serve Him in order to punish us whereas He is calling us to serve Him in order to ‘Polish’ us.

Dignity and honour are the cardinal marks of a winning believer.

“But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light.” Pet.2:9.

You see, every authentic believer is a child of distinction, he is a special kind of breed; he is marked out (exempted) from the corruption of darkness and translated into the illumination of light.

Excellence is the capital proof of obedience. An excellent spirit found in Daniel (the three Hebrew guys are better than the magicians and astrologers ten times. Daniel served God via prayer to the point that the king had no choice than bow and called him a god’s name, Belshazzar).

“And in all matters of wisdom and understanding, that the king enquired of them, he found them ten times better than all the magicians and astrologers that were in all his realms.” Dan.1:20.

Get this straight: a call to serve God isn’t a call to live unaccomplished, unfulfilled (you’re not expected to die the way ordinary men die).

It’s a call to be a partaker of a life with glory and virtue. A call to live an enviable life. We’re not an entity of pity; we are an entity of envy. Our destiny is an envious destiny, more than anything else.

“For he had possession of flocks, and possession of herds, and a great store of servants: and the Philistines envied him.” Gen.26:14.

Only if you can carry this mentality that serving God guarantees you an enviable destiny, nobody will be able to ask you again that “where is your God?” Every of the question mark lurking around your life will be turned into exclamation mark in the name of Jesus.

We are predestined for glorification.

“For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his son, that he might be the first born among many brethren. Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.” Rom.8:29-30

In conclusion, serving God is what turns an ordinary man into an extraordinary man. It makes a nonentity to become a celebrity (The disciples of Jesus were unlearned people, but Peter preached in one day and over 3000 souls were converted at the spot). Hmmm! Thank you Jesus.
